In the grand scheme of crypto evolution, I watched exchanges come and go, be broken and fixed, robbed and scammed, glorious and fudded into oblivion.

The truth is, exchanges are here to make money. Fiat money. As are the majority of traders involved.
Coins all scramble and try to make it into the exchanges, spend all their btc and hard earned dollars voting and paying marketing companies to get them there.

Once into the big exchange everyone shouts Hurrah!! The coin is then feasted on like diseased wolves at a sheep buffet, dropped like the now rotting carcass for all the community and developers involved to scratch their heads wondering “what the fuck happened?”  “Is my dream over?”
Consequently technologies are lost or buried in the dirt beneath the wolve’s bounty of innocent flesh and the developer moves on leaving the community with the tab for investing in a ‘scam’ coin.

The function of an exchange is to exchange and make money.  It is the assumption that the initial marketing burst of being added to an exchange will be long lived. In truth it is generally, if not always, just the pay cheque all the traders and exchanges are waiting for.

So, is begging for entry into exchanges and sacrificing development money for every way you can in necessary?
I would say no.  Perhaps one. Pick a good one and stick to it.

Cryptsy has been around since before the dawn of coinmarketcap. Those of us who waited gracefully while they upgraded all their servers to handle the mass volume of the bitcoin and consequent altcoin boom were well rewarded.

Nearly every coin coming out now has their own exchange built in. In the future exchanges will have to be creative and versatile to survive.
Those exchanges that do not bite the hand that feeds, (all the altcoins that make them their dough) and move forward with even the slightest generosity and belief in crypto ideals will be the ones to last longterm.

Choose wisely, and do not throw your btc away scrambling into possible doom pits.
Focus on guerilla marketing tactics and one damn good exchange.  The future will be decentralized anyways.
Remember the holy crypto bible, coin market cap doest give a shit how many exchanges you’re in.. they base the value of all your work on the price dictated between all the exchanges.
You could have an exchange in your shoe, as long as someone is trading in your shoe, cmc will give you the market cap you’re after.

Keep up the good fight cryptos and don’t let greedy fucking pigs get in your way of revolution.
